| Flow Measurement Products for Life Science Research
Transonic provides Gold Standard metering
systems for direct quantification of volume flow in acute/chronic perivascular, extracorporeal, and in vitro flow measurements. |
|
Common Perivascular Applications
- Mice
- Rats
- Pharmacutical
- VADS
- Tissue Perfusion
|
TS420 Perivascular Module
Transonic Systems' hallmark simple plug & play
mode of operation accepts acute and chronic perivascular Flowprobes with precision offset and resolution specifications. It's capable of accurately measuring volume flow of less than 1
ml/min with implantable 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm mouse flowprobes. |

| Perivascular Flowprobes |
Nanoprobes
0.5 - 0.7 mm
Micro-flowprobes for murine studies
Easily stabilize probe position under the microscope with a micromanipulator for experiments in anesthetized mice and rats. Transonic also supplies custom implantable versions for conscious mouse studies. |
|
PS & PR Series for any vessel
1-20 mm
Standard Acute Use Probe.
Custom Implantable Configuration |

|
PAX Series Precision Cardiac Output Flowprobes
8-36 mm
Accurate volume flow measurements for ascending aorta and pulmonary artery with non-laminar or turbulent flow profiles. |
|
V-Series Microcirculation Probes for Acute Use Only
0.5 - 0.7 mm
Transonic System's original probe series for small vessels < 0.7 mm. Mirrored ultrasonic illumination; robust design. Flowprobes come with stabilizing handle and require more acoustic coupling than Nanoprobes. |

PMP - Series Handle Flowprobes
2-14 mm
For intraoperative measurements in preclinical animal trials where devices that match those used in clinical surgical settings are preferred. |

Extracoporeal Flow Measurements
For highest accuracy in pulse duplication and fluid dynamics studies, Transonic Systems' TS410 Flowmeter Module with PXL-Series sterile tubing flowsensors is the system of choice.
Common applications include:
- Artificial Heart & VAD Performance
- Medical Device & Pump Engineering
- Manufacturing & Compliance Flow Testing
PXL Flowsensors attach to extracorporeal lines for enhanced accuracy over a wide dynamic range. PXN Flowsensors splice into laboratory tubing to measure absolute volume flow of blood and other fluids. These sensors offer precision accuracy for flows from less than 1 ml/min up to flows of 100 L/min.
Tissue Perfusion Studies
Transonic Systems' BLF 21-Series perfusion monitors measure microcirculation in 1 cubic mm of tissue for real-time assessment of perfusion in patients. Flowmeters monitor the effects of exercise, drug treatments, environmental or physical manipulations on target microvascular beds. Dual channel units can monitor an experimental tissue along with a control or a second area of affected tissue.
Two basic styles of Laser Doppler Probes are available: those for acute use and the chronic application probe. Continuous measurements can be taken in skin with surface probes: intraopertively in organs with surface, straight or needle probes: and internally with endoscopic probes. The mono-fiber probe can be used to measure perfusion with fibers implanted in tissue of lab animals.
